How to Cure Vomiting | Vomit Treatment

Vomiting is the forceful expulsion of the contents of one's stomach through the mouth and sometimes the nose. Vomiting is a common symptom of a wide variety of mild to serious diseases, disorders and conditions. It occurs in all age groups and populations and may or may not occur with nausea.


Depending on the cause, vomiting can begin suddenly and disappear quickly, as in the case of alcohol intoxication. Vomiting may also recur over days, weeks or months, such as vomiting due to morning sickness or pancreatitis.


Vomiting Symptom:

* Involuntary expulsion of food from mouth and nose.

* Increased saliva.

* Dizziness.

* Light headedness.

* Difficulty in swallowing food or liquid.

* Changes in skin temperature.

* Increase in heartbeat rate.

* Increased sensitivity to certain smells.

* Changes in the taste of some foods.


Cause of Vomiting:

Conditions that are known to cause vomiting include infection, poisoning, mental health illnesses, malignancy (cancer), inflammation, trauma, obstruction, and other abnormal processes within the digestive system, nervous system, reproductive system, cardiovascular system, or endocrine system.


How to Prevent Vomiting:

1. Sit down or lie in a propped up position. Physical activity will make you feel worse.

2. Spicy food is not good.

3. Have a Popsicle or a similar sweetened ice treat.

4. Do not go to sleep immediately after taking meals.


Remedies for Vomiting | Stop Vomiting:

* Prepare peppermint tea and allow to cool.

* Eat a mixture of honey and powder of 2 roasted cardamoms.

* Have a glass of chilled lime juice.

* Slowly sip a glass of honey water.

* Have one tsp onion juice in regular interval.

* Slowly sip a glass of chilled cola, soft drinks, such as Sprite or 7 Up can also help settle the stomach.

* One can take 1 to 2 tablespoonful of non carbonated syrup.

* Take a piece of lemon and add some rock salt to it.

* Cumin seeds are also good.

Dysentery Treatment | Home Remedies for Dysentery

What is Dysentery:

Dysentery is a general term for a group of gastrointestinal disorders characterized by inflammation of the intestines, particularly the colon. Characteristic features include abdominal pain and cramps, straining at stool (tenesmus), and frequent passage of watery diarrhea or stools containing blood and mucus. Dysentery is a disease that primarily affects the intestines. Usually found in poorer areas of the world.


The bacteria enters the body through the mouth in food or water, and also by human faces and contact with infected people. The diarrhea causes people suffering from dysentery to lose important salts and fluids from the body. This can be fatal if the body dehydrates.


Symptoms of Dysentery:

Dysentery Symptoms Include:

* Runny diarrhea might contain blood, mucus, and pus.

* Exertion during bowel movements.

* Pain in the abdomen.

* Vomiting and nausea.

* Fever.

* Nausea.

* Achy muscles throughout the body.

* Frequent motions which are watery.

* Rapid weight loss and dehydration. The elderly and the very young are particularly vulnerable to dehydration.


Dysentery Causes:

1. Germ infection in the colon.

2. Over spiced food and fatty foods.

3. Unsanitary conditions, chill.

4. Intestinal disorders.

5. Lowered vigor.

6. Fatigue and weakness.


Dysentery Prevention:

Dysentery is spread because of poor hygiene. To minimize the risk of catching the disease:

• Wash your hands with soap and water after using the toilet and regularly throughout the day, particularly after coming into contact with an infected person.
• Wash your hands before handling, eating or cooking food, handling babies and feeding children or elderly people.

• Keep contact with an infected person to a minimum.

• Do not share towels and facecloths.

• Wash the laundry of an infected person on the hottest setting possible.

Dysentery Remedies:

* Wood apple is very useful in dysentery. The soft pulp of the fruit should be taken twice daily.

* Grind about 2 grams of seeds of fenugreek into fine powder. Put it in a bowl full of curds. Drink it three times in day. It will provide relief.

* 50 gm Yogurt mixed with small amount of honey 3 times a day gives fast relief.

* Powder 2 to 4 gm of ginger. Add it to a glass of warm water.

* Apple is also considered advantageous in the management of acute and chronic dysentery in the kids.

* Eat simple food, preferably curd rice.

* One can chew the leaves of Butea tree in case the dysentery is mild.

* Pound some curry leaves, when tender into a pulp and mix honey. Take 2 teaspoonfuls twice in a day.

* One can have kichari, Indian form of rice gruel whereby moong dal(lentils) are boiled and rice added to it. The two are pounded. It can be easily digested.

* Extract ginger juice in some warm water and add castor oil. Have it for two as it cures you of the dysentery completely.

Treatment for Dehydration | Dehydration Cure

What is Dehydration:

Dehydration means your body does not have as much water and fluids as it should. Water is a critical element of the body, and adequate hydration is a must to allow the body to function. Up to 75% of the body's weight is made up of water. Most of the water is found within the cells of the body (intracellular space).


Water makes up over two thirds of the healthy human body. It is essential for lubricating the joints and eyes, aiding digestion, flushing out waste and toxins and keeping skin healthy. Dehydration occurs when the normal water content of your body is reduced, upsetting the delicate balance of minerals (salts and sugar) in your body fluid.


Many of your body's cells depend on these minerals being maintained at the correct levels to function properly.

Causes of Dehydration:

Common causes of dehydration include intense diarrhea, vomiting, fever or excessive sweating. Not drinking enough water during hot weather or exercise also may cause dehydration. Anyone may become dehydrated, but young children, older adults and people with chronic illnesses are most at risk.


Sign of Dehydration | Dehydration Symptoms:

* Dry, sticky mouth

* Sleepiness or tiredness children are likely to be less active than usual

* Thirst

* Reduced urination

* Few or no tears when crying

* Dry skin

* Headache

* Constipation

* Dizziness

* Dry tongue

* Weakness

Remedies for Dehydration:

* Drink lots of water by adding some water or salt to it.

* Grate one raw papaya. Add 3 cups water, boil for 10 mins, strain and finish the water in one day.

* Drinking a cup of buttermilk mixed with half a teaspoon of dry ginger three to four times in a day is useful in dealing with Dehydration.

* Avoid tea coffee completely.

* Sipping some pickle juice and then drinking water before going out in the sun is a common natural remedy for Dehydration prevention.

* Drink a mixture of 1 tsp mint juice, 1/2 tsp ginger juice, and 1 tsp honey.

* Prepare a mixture by adding 1/2 tsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp ginger juice, and 1/4 tsp pepper powder and drink it.

* Avoid cold drinks as they aggravates dehydration as they contain caffeine.

* Avoid fried foods.

* Stew 1 apple with 2 pinches of nutmeg powder and 1 tsp sugar. Give your child to eat it.

* Raw vegetable and fruit have high percentage of water. Include them in your regular diet to prevent future dehydration.

How to Protect Your Eyes in Summer

Your eyes are very sensitive so you want to be sure that you take care of them the best way possible. The heat and grime in summer season can spell trouble for your eyes, making them prone to many eye infections. Bacteria, virus and allergens thrive in the summer heat and your eyes can fall prey to these easily.

Studies show that exposure to bright sunlight may increase the risk of developing cataracts, age related muscular degeneration and growths on the eye, including cancer. Unfortunately many people are unaware of the sun’s harmful rays. UVB and UVA this ultraviolet radiation are able to some harm to your eyes. It’s likely that they will result cataract and damage your retina. Therefore, you have to safeguard your eyes in summer when you are going out.


Heat is increasing and this can affect your eyes if you do not take precautions. Along with heat the dust has also increased. Because of the dryness your eyes also tend to get dehydrated.

Tips for Summer Eye Protection:

* Wear sunglasses with 97% to 100% UV-A and UV-B protection.

* Your sunglasses should wrap all the way around to your temples, so the sun’s rays can’t enter from the side.

* In addition to your sunglasses, wear a broad brimmed hat to protect your eyes.


* You should wash your eyes with cold water.

* Don’t rely on UV contact lenses, also wear sunglasses.

* Looking directly at the sun at any time, including during an eclipse, can lead to solar retinopathy, damage to the eye’s retina from solar radiation.


* You use eye drops, but eye drop recommendation please consult with your eye specialist.

* Protect yourself on hazy and cloudy days too.

* Wear sunglasses all year round.
