What is Ringworm:

Ringworm, which isn't a worm at all, can affect not only the skin, but also the nails and scalp. Ringworm of the skin starts as a red, scaly patch or bump. Ringworm tends to be very itchy and uncomfortable.


Ringworm occurs when a particular type of fungus grows and multiplies anywhere on your skin, scalp, fingers, nails or feet. Ringworm of the body can develop anywhere on the skin and can spread rapidly to other parts of the body or to other people with whom there is close bodily contact or touching.


What Causes Ringworm:

Ringworm is caused by a particular type of fungi, called dermatophytes, which live off keratin. Keratin is a tough, waterproof tissue found in many parts of your body including your skin, nails and hair.


Ringworm Symptoms:

Symptoms of ringworm include:

• Itchy, red, raised, scaly patches that may blister and ooze.

• The patches tend to have sharply-defined edges.

• Red patches are often redder around the outside with normal skin tone in the center. This may look like a ring.

If ringworm affects your hair, you will have bald patches.

If ringworm affects your nails, they will become discolored, thick, and even crumble.


Ringworm Remedies:

1. Uncooked papaya is a great way to treat ringworm. Rub a few slices of the papaya about the areas of the body where there are ringworms. A paste made from dried papaya seeds may also be applied about the ringworm areas.

2. Chamomile tea, taken three times a day, should help clear ringworm. It can also be applied directly to the affected areas with a cotton ball three times a day.

3. Liquid of fig leaf can also be effective with regard to treating ringworm. Break the leaf and rub the actual white juice on and around the ringworm. Repeat the process until it's gone.

4. Take a cup of lemongrass tea three times a day. While you drink the tea, apply the used tea bags to the affected areas. This should help ringworm to clear faster.

5. Butea Seeds may also be used for dealing with ringworm. Create a paste from the Butea Seed products and mix. Apply the actual paste towards the affected pores and skin.

6. Olive-leaf extract has antifungal properties and helps to fortify the immune system. Take 250 milligrams three times a day.

7. The leaves associated with holy basil will also be useful, all you have to do is extract the actual juice and apply it to the patches of skin.

8. Repeatedly rub a small amount of vinegar onto your skin for those who have re-occurring ringworm.

9. Juice extracted from fresh and raw vegetables are also helpful as ringworm remedies.

1. Pineapple is an excellent cure for sprained ankle. This helps in alleviating pain and bruising.

2. Chopped onions can also be used to cure sprained ankle. Wrap chopped onions in a piece of cloth and place it on the sprained ankle.

3. Hot packs or heating pads are also beneficial to ease pain and swelling in the ankle.

4. Gentle massage with garlic oil and almond oil is also useful for curing sprained ankle.

5. You can even cold compress or cold cloth to reduce pain and swelling.

What is Psoriasis:

Psoriasis is a noncontagious skin condition that produces red, dry plaques of thickened skin. The dry flakes and skin scales are thought to result from the rapid proliferation of skin cells that is triggered by abnormal lymphocytes from the blood . Psoriasis commonly affects the skin of the elbows, knees, and scalp.


Psoriasis is a medical condition that occurs when skin cells grow too quickly. Faulty signals in the immune system cause new skin cells to form in days rather than weeks. The body does not shed these excess skin cells, so the cells pile up on the surface of the skin and lesions form.


Types of Psoriasis:

Psoriasis is a common and chronic skin disorder. Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis and is characterized by red skin covered with silvery scales and inflammation. Patches of circular to oval-shaped red plaques that itch or burn are typical of plaque psoriasis. The patches are usually found on the arms, legs, trunk, or scalp but may be found on any part of the skin. The most typical areas are the knees and elbows.


Psoriasis Causes:

Till today, the exact cause is still unknown to mankind although it has been noted that most of the time; this incurable disease can be triggered by certain conditions listed below:

* Strep infection (which may trigger guttate kind of psoriasis).

* Sunburn.

* Skin Injury.

* Medications.

* Stress.

* Infection.

Symptoms of Psoriasis:

Psoriasis signs and symptoms can vary from person to person but may include one or more of the following:

1. Red patches of skin covered with silvery scales.
2. Small scaling spots (commonly seen in children).
3. Dry, cracked skin that may bleed.
4. Itching, burning or soreness.
5. Thickened, pitted or ridged nails.
6. Swollen and stiff joints.


Psoriasis Remedies:

1. Bathing daily helps remove scales and calm inflamed skin. Add bath oil, colloidal oatmeal, Epsom salts or Dead Sea salts to the water and soak for at least 15 minutes. Avoid hot water and harsh soaps, which can worsen symptoms; use lukewarm water and mild soaps that have added oils and fats.

2. Blot your skin after bathing, then immediately apply a heavy, ointment based moisturizer while your skin is still moist. For very dry skin, oils may be preferable.

3. Apple cider vinegar diluted in water can be used to temporarily help relieve itching and scaling. Apple cider vinegar or white vinegar can also be diluted in three to four times as much lukewarm water and poured over the head, rubbed in, left for one minute, and then rinsed out. Or you can add 1/2 cup of cider vinegar to a tubful of bath water to help restore acidity to the skin.

4. As psoriasis is considered to be a metabolic disorder, cucumbers, grapes, carrots and beetroots help in curing this skin ailment as they have cleansing properties

5. To help improve redness and scaling, apply an ointment based moisturizer to your skin and wrap with plastic wrap overnight. In the morning, remove the covering and wash away the scales with a bath or a shower.

6. Burdock root can help improve flare ups of psoriasis. Take 20 to 40 drops of tincture three times a day.

7. Chamomile is widely used in Europe for treating psoriasis. It contains anti inflammatory flavonoid compounds. If you have ragweed allergies, however, do not use chamomile, as it is a member of the ragweed family.

8. Fruits, grains, nuts, seeds, vegetables particularly organically grown vegetables, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds are good and favorable to cure psoriasis naturally.

9. All animal fats that include eggs, processed or refined foods, butter and milk must be avoided. It is said that these cause psoriasis.

10. Foods that contain whit sugar or hydrogenated fats and all condiments, coffee and tea must be avoided.

11. Alcohol consumption may decrease the effectiveness of some psoriasis treatments.
