What is Sore Throat:
Sore throat (pharyngitis) is very common. It is usually caused by an infection in the throat. Soreness in the throat may be the only symptom. Sore Throat Remedies:
1. Gargle at least once each hour with 1 tsp (5 g) of salt dissolved in 8 fl oz (240 mL) of warm water.
2. Steep 1 teaspoon dried chamomile in 1 cup of hot water. Strain. Let it cool to lukewarm and gargle as needed.
3. Add a spoonful of bourbon or whiskey to a large glass of warm water and gargle can help numb a sore throat.
4. Mix ¼ cup of apple cider vinegar and ¼ cup of honey. Take one tablespoon every four hours or as needed for pain relief.
5. Boil a pint of water and add ½ teaspoon of powdered goldenseal root. Drink hot. Goldenseal is well known for its antibiotic properties.
6. Add the juice of one lemon and one teaspoon of salt to one cup of warm water. Gargle three times a day for one minute.
7. Boil some pomegranate rinds and drink as a tea. The pomegranate contains astringents.
8. Sucking on a hard candy will stimulate saliva production, which will help moisten your dry, irritated throat.
9. Mix 1 tsp. lime juice and 1 Tbls. honey. Swallow tiny amounts slowly 2-3 times a day.

* Wash your hands often, especially when you are around people who are sick.
