Mesothelioma Treatment

Mesothelioma Definition:

The tissue that lines your lungs, stomach, heart and other organs is called mesothelium.

mesothelioma

Malignant mesothelioma, is a rare form of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many of the body's internal organs, the mesothelium. In less common cases, the heart and abdomen can also be affected by mesothelioma cancer. Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year.

mesothelioma

Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles. It can take a long time 30 to 50 years between being around asbestos and getting the disease. Treatment includes surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or all three.

mesothelioma

Types of Mesothelioma:

Mesothelioma can occur in different parts of the body. Three types of mesothelioma are pleural (lungs), peritoneal (stomach), and pericardial (heart).

mesothelioma

Mesothelioma Causes:

* Asbestos causes irritation and inflammation of mesothelial cells, which results in irreversible scarring, cellular damage, and eventually cancer.

* Asbestos fibers enter cells and disrupt the function of cellular structures that are essential for normal cell division, causing cellular changes that lead to cancer.

* Asbestos causes the production of free radicals. These molecules damage DNA, and cause cells to mutate and become cancerous.

mesothelioma

Mesothelioma Symptoms:

As was stated previously, symptoms of mesothelioma can vary, but the most common general symptoms are:

* Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

* Coughing.

* Pain in chest or abdomen.

* Fluid in the chest, lungs, or abdomen.

* Weight loss.

* Loss of appetite.

* Inability to sleep.

* Husky voice.

* Difficulty swallowing.

mesothelioma

Mesothelioma Treatment:

The treatment program for mesothelioma depends on many factors, including: the stage of the cancer, where the cancer is, how far the cancer has spread, how the cancer cells look under the microscope and the patient’s age and desires.

Cancer treatment usually focuses upon destroying malignant cells and preserving healthy ones. This can be accomplished in a number of ways. At the present, patients will typically utilize three primary mechanisms for mesothelioma treatment. Either surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, or some combination of the three are considered the most effective for the treatment of malignant mesothelioma.

Many patients who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma are given more than one of these treatments this is referred to as multimodality therapy. By combining more than one of these effective, rigorous treatments, it is possible to approach a solution to the cancer from various angles. This improves upon the life expectancy of the patient so that they are much more likely to survive the disease.

In addition to these options, there are also some more experimental procedures. Among these options are photodynamic therapy, gene therapy, and immunotherapy. Unfortunately, these options are still in the experimental phase, with little knowledge as to their effectiveness. For this reason they are typically only available to patients as part of a clinical trial.

Treatments for Brain Cancer

Brain cancer is a disease of the brain in which cancer cells (malignant) arise in the brain tissue. Cancer cells grow to form a mass of cancer tissue (tumor) that interferes with brain functions such as muscle control, sensation, memory, and other normal body functions.

brain cancer

Cancers of the brain are the consequence of abnormal growths of cells in the brain. Brain cancers can arise from primary brain cells, the cells that form other brain components (for example, membranes, blood vessels), or from the growth of cancer cells that develop in other organs and that have spread to the brain by the bloodstream (metastatic brain cancer).

brain cancer

Brain Cancer Symptoms:

* Headaches, usually worse in the morning.

* Nausea and vomiting.

* Changes in your ability to talk, hear or see.

* Problems with balance or walking.

* Problems with thinking or memory.

* Muscle jerking or twitching.

* Numbness or tingling in arms or legs.

Causes of Brain Cancer:

There is no known cause of brain cancer. Extensive research has been conducted to pinpoint a cause to help prevent the cancer from occurring. Although there has not been very much conclusive evidence leading to a cause of brain cancer, the one thing that doctors do know is that brain cancer is not contagious and it does not occur due to head injury. There are known instances where cancer has spread to the brain from other parts of the body. (Lung cancer, Breast cancer, Liver cancer and so on.).

Treatments for Brain Cancer:

Brain tumors are treated with surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Our doctors also are studying a vaccine for treating a recurrent cancer of the central nervous system that occurs primarily in the brain, known as glioma.

Home remedies that have been listed in various sources as possibly helpful for Brain cancer may include:

* Exercise.

* Stress Management.

* Massage Therapy.

* Mind Body Exercise.

* Beans.

* Blueberries.

* Strawberries.

* Blackberries.

* Buckwheat.

* Black tea.

* Green tea.

* Cabbage.

* Apricots.

* Tomatoes.

* Carrots.

* Cauliflower.

* Cherries.

* Corn.

Breast Cancer Treatment | Breast Cancer Cure

Breast cancer is cancer originating from breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of milk ducts or the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers originating from ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, those originating from lobules are known as lobular carcinomas. It occurs in both men and women, although male breast cancer is rare.

breast cancer

After skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women in the world. But breast cancer rates have fallen in recent years, though doctors aren't certain why. Still, for many women, breast cancer is the disease they fear most.

Types of Breast Cancer:

* DCIS Ductal Carcinoma In Situ

* IDC Invasive Ductal Carcinoma

* ILC Invasive Lobular Carcinoma

* IBC Inflammatory Breast Cancer

* LCIS Lobular Carcinoma In Situ

* MBC Male Breast Cancer

* Paget's Disease of the Nipple

* Phyllodes Tumors of the Breast

* Recurrent and Metastatic Breast Cancer

Breast Cancer Symptoms | Signs of Breast Cancer:

* Swelling of all or part of the breast

* Skin irritation or dimpling

* Breast pain

* Nipple pain or the nipple turning inward

* Redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin

* A nipple discharge other than breast milk

* A lump in the underarm area

Sometimes there are no symptoms of breast cancer when it is in the early stages. If you notice a lump, or are experiencing anything unusual, you must report the symptoms to your doctor as soon as possible.

Breast Cancer Causes:

It's not clear what causes breast cancer. Doctors know that breast cancer occurs when some breast cells begin growing abnormally. These cells divide more rapidly than healthy cells do. The accumulating cells form a tumor that may spread (metastasize) through your breast, to your lymph nodes or to other parts of your body.

breast cancer

Breast Cancer Stages:

There are four stages of breast cancer.

* Stage 0 (carcinoma in situ)

* Stage I

* Stage II

* Stage IIIA

* Stage IIIB

* Stage IIIC

* Stage IV

In stage IV, the cancer has spread to other organs of the body, most often the bones, lungs, liver, or brain.

Breast Cancer Remedies:

* Garlic: Eat raw garlic cloves or in powder form as it makes good anti cancer agent.

* Broccoli: When this is taken in raw form, it has the power to kill the tumor cells.

* Beans: Fava beans contain much herein, which has shown to block carcinogens in the digestive tract. And soy beans are especially rich in isoflavones, which appears to reduce the risk of breast cancer by blocking the tumor growing influence of estrogen.

* Whole Wheat: Scientist found that the more whole grain there is in a woman's diet, the lower her risk of breast cancer, as well as heart disease.

* Grapes: Grapes contain a compound that leads to effective treatment of breast cancer.

* Green Tea: Prepare herbal green tea as it has anti inflammatory properties.

* Lignans: Lignans are present in cashews, strawberries, flax seed, sunflower and peanuts as this slows down the rate of progression of cancer.

Eat food low in fat and high in fiber , reduce caffeine intake and avoid non vegetarian food items. Supplement your diet with flex oil , fish oil and vitamin E & C.
