Treatment for Dry Cough | Dry Cough Relief

What is a Dry Cough:

A dry cough refers to a cough that does not produce mucus (also known as phlegm or sputum). A cough is your body’s defensive reflex that functions to keep your airways clear of irritating or obstructing substances so you can breathe effectively.

Dry cough can be caused for various different reasons. It is mostly brought on by having an irritation within the upper throat, but it can also be caused by anything from a common cold to allergies. Severe cases of dry cough, meaning that it remains for more than ten days, could be a sign of a more serious medical condition.


Dry Cough Symptoms:

You will feel an unbearable ticklish sensation in your throat and there will not be any phlegm. You can also suffer from intense hacking bouts of coughing, which might result in fatigue and redness in the face. You might also show symptoms of rapid and shallow breathing with great difficulty in talking. Some other symptoms of dry cough are heart burn, sour taste in the mouth, fever and sweating.

Dry Cough Causes:

The following medical conditions are some of the possible causes of dry cough.

* Common cold

* Post nasal drip

* Whooping cough

* Pollutant irritation

* Habitual cough

* Asthma

* Lung cancer

* Allergies

Remedies for Dry Cough:

1. Add a tablespoon of honey to a mug of warm milk. Sip slowly inhale the steam at the same time. This is an excellent pre bedtime dry cough remedy.

2 .Ground the almonds to create a fine paste. Add 20 grams each of butter and sugar to the paste, which should be administered in the morning and evening.

3. Take a small piece of fresh ginger and peel it. Chew it slowly when you have the urge to cough. It’s quite fiery, so only have a small piece.

4. Add a humidifier to your bedroom to combat a dry cough that comes at night.

5. Keep a package of peppermint candies in your pocket and chew on one at the first sign of cough.

6. Take 3-4 balls of black pepper and with of caraway seeds with a hint of common salt. Suck on it for some time and you will notice instant relief.

7. Gain relief from a bothersome cough by adding cinnamon to a cup of tea.

8. Take some lukewarm water with a bit of salt and gargle. Alternatively, you can prepare a decoration of henna leaves for treating dry cough.

9. Boil oregano in a cup of water, filter, and drink to lessen the intensity of a dry cough.

10. Soothe not only your throat but also a dry cough when you add honey to a cup of green tea.
