Hernia Treatment | Hernia Cures

A hernia occurs when the contents of a body cavity bulge out of the area where they are normally contained. These contents, usually portions of intestine or abdominal fatty tissue, are enclosed in the thin membrane that naturally lines the inside of the cavity. Although the term hernia can be used for bulges in other areas, it most often is used to describe hernias of the lower torso (abdominal wall hernias).

Hernias happen more frequently in certain parts of the body, like the abdomen, groin and upper thigh area, and belly button area. They also can happen in any place where you may have had an incision from surgery.

Hernia Pain:

Pain occurs from hernias for several reasons, Pain can occur because the tissue at and around the hole is being stretched or torn and therefor in some fashion damaged. This usually will cause pain directly at the site of the hernia and is Localized Pain. Pain may also occur as a result of irritation of or damage to area nerves as a result of the hernia and its contents pushing into or pinching the nerves.

hernia

Types of Hernia:

There are several types of hernias, including,

* Inguinal, the most common type, is in the groin.

* Umbilical, around the belly button.

* Incisional, through a scar.

* Hiatal, a small opening in the diaphragm that allows the upper part of the stomach to move up into the chest.

* Congenital diaphragmatic, a birth defect that needs surgery.

hernia

Hernia Symptoms:

There might be many signs of Hernia, based on the type and the tissue affected. Mostly all the Hernia start off, as an unnoticeable breakthroughs of the tissues. They just appear as small chunks under the skin, which might be as small as a marble. The starting of Hernia is generally painless. But with time, the size increases as the pressure on the internal walls increases and it turns out to be pretty painful.

Hernia Causes:

* Obesity.

* Heavy lifting.

* Avoid physical and mental stress. Practicing yoga will do you good for discipline and relaxation.

* Avoid spicy & acidic food.

* Having a healthy lifestyle is very important in treating hernia. If you are a cigarette smoker, you should immediately kick off the habit since smoking increases acidity in the stomach and worsens your condition. You should also avoid drinking alcoholic and caffeinated beverages. Even tea should be avoided.

* Drink warm tea in hot room and sweat it out.

* Do not exercise with full stomach.

* Another effective remedy for hernia is eating rice mixed with buttermilk and ripe banana twice every day. This diet is sure to enhance better digestion and prevent burning due to hernia.

* Do not bend over or lie down after eating.

* If you are overweight, losing weight alone may relieve the symptoms.

* An ice cube may help to control the pain.

* Drink 1/4 cup of aloe vera juice in the morning and again in the night.

Mesothelioma Treatment

Mesothelioma Definition:

The tissue that lines your lungs, stomach, heart and other organs is called mesothelium.

mesothelioma

Malignant mesothelioma, is a rare form of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many of the body's internal organs, the mesothelium. In less common cases, the heart and abdomen can also be affected by mesothelioma cancer. Approximately 2,000 to 3,000 cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed each year.

mesothelioma

Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles. It can take a long time 30 to 50 years between being around asbestos and getting the disease. Treatment includes surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or all three.

mesothelioma

Types of Mesothelioma:

Mesothelioma can occur in different parts of the body. Three types of mesothelioma are pleural (lungs), peritoneal (stomach), and pericardial (heart).

mesothelioma

Mesothelioma Causes:

* Asbestos causes irritation and inflammation of mesothelial cells, which results in irreversible scarring, cellular damage, and eventually cancer.

* Asbestos fibers enter cells and disrupt the function of cellular structures that are essential for normal cell division, causing cellular changes that lead to cancer.

* Asbestos causes the production of free radicals. These molecules damage DNA, and cause cells to mutate and become cancerous.

mesothelioma

Mesothelioma Symptoms:

As was stated previously, symptoms of mesothelioma can vary, but the most common general symptoms are:

* Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.

* Coughing.

* Pain in chest or abdomen.

* Fluid in the chest, lungs, or abdomen.

* Weight loss.

* Loss of appetite.

* Inability to sleep.

* Husky voice.

* Difficulty swallowing.

mesothelioma

Mesothelioma Treatment:

The treatment program for mesothelioma depends on many factors, including: the stage of the cancer, where the cancer is, how far the cancer has spread, how the cancer cells look under the microscope and the patient’s age and desires.

Cancer treatment usually focuses upon destroying malignant cells and preserving healthy ones. This can be accomplished in a number of ways. At the present, patients will typically utilize three primary mechanisms for mesothelioma treatment. Either surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, or some combination of the three are considered the most effective for the treatment of malignant mesothelioma.

Many patients who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma are given more than one of these treatments this is referred to as multimodality therapy. By combining more than one of these effective, rigorous treatments, it is possible to approach a solution to the cancer from various angles. This improves upon the life expectancy of the patient so that they are much more likely to survive the disease.

In addition to these options, there are also some more experimental procedures. Among these options are photodynamic therapy, gene therapy, and immunotherapy. Unfortunately, these options are still in the experimental phase, with little knowledge as to their effectiveness. For this reason they are typically only available to patients as part of a clinical trial.
